What our customers say

  • I have been fortunate enough to have had the pleasure of working with P.J. McMahon since the early 1970’s, and he has proved an invaluable source of experience and knowledge with my yard of polo ponies over the last 30 + years. He is a consistent provider of reliable, trustworthy expertise and his on-call services are second to none. He is equally as brilliant with the injuries picked up during the summer months when the ponies are playing, as he is with the ailments procured during the winter months. With 150+ horses here in his care, he is fast, efficient and his attention to detail is phenomenal, whilst his diagnostic abilities are, in my opinion, the very best. He is ably assisted by a wonderful team of staff - his administration team are organised and easy to communicate with, whilst the vets who work alongside him are always to the highest standard. He has proved a tremendous source of talent within the veterinary sphere and a large number of successful vets in the local area learnt their trade from him. P.J. has, since I’ve known him, always been to the forefront of the latest technologies available within the veterinary world, and his mobile equipment reflects this. He has always had my full trust and I know that my horses are receiving the very best possible care under his guidance.

  • I have been with P J McMahon MRCVS and his lovely Team, for some years now. My vet is the lovely, Marco-however ALL the Team are wonderful . I have had PJ a few times too, during very sad times and All the Team have been so kind, supportive and friendly. Nothing appears to be too much trouble, and they are always there at the end of the phone. Also very rare is that they listen to" YOU" the owner, and they are very happy to work with YOU, ON YOUR ideas and thoughts. Behind the scenes are the Office girls, who are at the end of the phone, and so helpful and polite. It gives me so much peace of mind, knowing that my horses are in such good hands.

  • Kings Park Equine vets provide a service second to none. PJ and his team have a unique and highly intelligent approach to assessment and support of sport horses. They are always aware of new veterinary research and any relevance it may provide to improving an already outstanding service. The PJ pre-purchase examination goes so far beyond a standard “5 star” vetting. After so many years of caring for so many world class competition horses it is hardly surprising that PJ’s knowledge and experience allow him to provide highly effective and targeted support of all our competition horses and ponies. Every horse is an individual and the care and attention to detail for each equine is overwhelming. Thank you.

  • PJ has been my vet for around 17 years. As a young vet he worked for Richard Hartley who at that time looked after my mother’s (Debbie Johnsey) top show jumpers. We have always had a good relationship with PJ, he is extremely hard working and always tries to his very best for the horses.

  • PJ McMahon and his practice have looked after our 30 livery and riding school horses for around 25 years and we have no hesitation in highly recommending them. PJ's vast experience and his excellent team of vets make the sometimes inevitable need for medical diagnosis/treatment less distressing. They are always calm and reassuring around the horses (and clients), combining the ability to be sympathetic with realistic assessments of the injury/condition. They have access to sophisticated equipment for both diagnosis and treatment and, in our experience, emergency calls have always been handled very efficiently.

  • What a delightful team at P J Mcmahon. All the team are friendly and extremely helpful. From the front of house team to the Vets they go over and above to help you. They are quick to respond and extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We have also used them to vet new horses and they have been extremely thorough ensuring that our pennies are well spent. I would highly recommend them.

  • I have been with PJ and his team for well over twenty years. I have always appreciated the straight talking practical approach, with a small team of vets who actually know you and your horses. In the variety of stressful situations horses put you in, the vets at PJ’s have proved themselves true professionals time and again. The whole team are genuinely caring and supportive but most importantly the wealth of knowledge and experience is first class. I wouldn’t trust the welfare of my horses to anyone else!
